  • It would be crazy to visit Ironbridge and not see the bridge itself. The views from the bridge are very good and there are walks in the area. I must confess we did not actually visit the tollhouse.
  • What can I say! The sun was shining the view was so wasn't to busy..driving in to Ironbridge..we couldn't wait to set foot in the Town and explore! Truly beautiful..lovely one off indivi...  read more »
  • Wow, what a fantastic bridge, it was a cool sunny day, not too busy. What would Thomas Telford think that his bridge is a tourist attraction. Look out for the Pork Pie and ice cream shops opposite the...  read more »
  • I reside here and it's an extremely quiet area considering its located in between high population areas. It's very lively during the weekend and tourists come from all over the world! Festivals go on in the gorge itself from time to time. Easily enough shops to satisfy most needs ranging from bike shops in Jack Field all the way to a Cooperative!
  • Nice bridge it's a person only so you drive over it but the views from it are lovely. A bit of a way to get to it but once you are there you can enjoy a nice meal in the local town (which is literally next to it) and of course a nice Shropshire ale. Overhaul a good experience which might last 30 minutes max so pad it out with food and drinks if you are looking to make it more of a day of it.
  • The bridge and setting is beautiful. Some interesting, unique shops. But... Expensive and very average food, lots of tourist tat and everything closes by 4:30-5pm. After that, drive to Telford or all the way to Merry Hill in Stourbridge to find somewhere to eat or do anything. Also, Ironbridge Council run car parks are expensive
  • Amazing historical place to visit with museums in close proximity... lovely hustle and bustle and sufficient shops here... ice cream shops here really help when the weather is really hot. For canoeing, cross the bridge and take the left staircase follow path to a boat house on left.. you can hire boats to do canoeing on River Severn. Whilst canoeing you will witness breathtaking scenery and its well worth the visit.
  • Lovely place to see. You should visit the museum to get some facts about it. Town is lovely and full of coffee shops. We arrived and they were celebrating WWII so lots of old army vehicles in the park and people dressed up for the occassion. That helped make it a really lovely day - it was even sunny.
