  • Really enjoyed sharing the history of this bridge with my kids. It deserves its world heritage site status
  • The first bridge-obviously made of iron-in the world! Definitely worth a visit as firstly-what an incredible piece of history & secondly-set in a surprisingly glorious part of the world...a decent amo...  more »
  • We pulled in at iron bridge on our way north. A lovely town and have to say was a busy little place even on a Sunday in Feb at 2 degrees. Parking at the bottom of the town is not a fortune (£3.40 I th...  more »

  • I reside here and it's an extremely quiet area considering its located in between high population areas. It's very lively during the weekend and tourists come from all over the world! Festivals go on in the gorge itself from time to time. Easily enough shops to satisfy most needs ranging from bike shops in Jack Field all the way to a Cooperative!
  • Nice bridge it's a person only so you drive over it but the views from it are lovely. A bit of a way to get to it but once you are there you can enjoy a nice meal in the local town (which is literally next to it) and of course a nice Shropshire ale. Overhaul a good experience which might last 30 minutes max so pad it out with food and drinks if you are looking to make it more of a day of it.
  • Great place to get a perspective on any problems you have. The bridge is over 200 years old. Puts your troubles into perspective.
  • A lovely visit, cool but sunny day, what would Thomas Telford think, his first iron bridge a tourist attraction. A bloody good one though.
  • It's a bridge. Interesting traditional engineering if you like that kind of thing!
