Ipswich Waterfront, Ipswich

(3.9/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Welcome to The Waterfront Bar Bistro.

The philosophy behind The Waterfront Bar Bistro is based on a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. It's a place by water where you can meet and have some great French inspired food.

Greg and Lorraine Morgan entered the restaurant trade over ten years ago when they opened Morgans wine bar and bistro in Ipswich town centre.

The aim is not to be too formal but ensure people feel special and enjoy themselves.

A move to the Waterfront area has always been top of the agenda and when the opportunity came along the decision was a very easy one to make.

The head chef Julien Jourdain has worked with Greg and Lorraine for over eight years and is the major driving force behind the inventive menus and consistent pursuit of fresh local quality ingredients.

  • Weather today was gorgeous and had a walk down to the marina and wasn't disappointed. Good walk around and a cup of coffee in the cafe. Good parking all around and plenty of boats to look at.  more »
  • I would have given this area a 5/5 but there are SO many beggers/chavs/drugged up men wandering around. I did not feel safe at all, and neither did my 30 y/o partner. There's so many cute buildings an...  more »

  • Love the waterfront great view lovely place to go for a walk or see its history. Lots of places to go eat and drink. Great vibe and everyone seems friendly
  • Large selection of restaurants and caf├ęs for all budgets. A nice area to walk around. Quite a few events are held during the summer, from local markets to the beer festival.
  • Interesting range of offices, shops, bars and restaurants as well as flats, university and marina here as this area transforms itself from a former industrial docks into a trendy post modern area.
  • Great place when an event is on. Most of the time it looks rough :(
  • Great for walk
