  • Fantastic place to visit; a must when in Ipswich. I had lived in Ipswich for 3 years before I visited Holywells and was blown away by its beauty when I did so. So much to see and do for all; back to n...  more »

  • Lovely little park, well-maintained, many walks -- although it is rather up and down in places, there are solid tarmac paths all around so it is accessible in a wheelchair (with a little effort). The Stables is a delightful cafe area for a drink or a snack, and there is a large play area for children. It's almost like a small-scale, cosy version of Christchurch Park in the centre of town; this is about a mile out of town, with easy roadside parking. We often take the dog for a walk there. Oh! There is a re-purposed Victorian greenhouse place for children's parties too!
  • You can find this park east of Ipswich near to the Waterfront and town. The park held special memories when my children were growing up. The park is as special now as when we spent time there some 10 years ago. The park has matured with older trees its well kept with lots of paths through the wooded areas. There is a pond with lots of bird life around it there is a further pond near at the far end of the park surrounded by trees and paths. There are also open areas to play and have picnics and a lovely old house where can get drinks and snacks. The undulating grounds adds to the magic for adults as well as children. Try a visit I don't think you will be disappointed. Well done Ipswich you work hard on your parks and open spaces.
  • Fantastic park for walking or just chilling in the sun with a book. Great kids play area with lovely ice cream and toilets close by with changing facilities. Stables Cafe at the top of the park does lovely food including really good jacket potatoes and milkshakes. Also at the stables is more information on activities at the park and a bike repair shop as well as more toilets and changing facilities.
  • Lovely space for kids. Blackberry bushes anound for picking. Kids play area is great including a water play area. Best of all, it's completely free.
  • If you are after a quiet stroll through the woods then this is the place for you...do not venture near the park playground though or your tranquility will be instantly ruined by the chattering screaming kids...stay off the beaten track and you wil enjoy your stroll...and after you have had your fill of nature there is an ice cream parlour for you to buy that ice lolly to cool your down from all that walking! Well worth the visit. A lovely place all round not to mention the tea room over looking the park and stream. Lovely manicured lawns and well cared for trees and pruned hedges make this for a pleasant afternoon out!
