  • We found Alton Water on line because teenage boys wanted to hire bikes for the day. It's a reservoir with a sailing club, and a large designated nature reserve at one end. The eight mile perimeter is ...  more »
  • This place is lovely! We have visited briefly and stayed for longer periods. We have had a picnic, hired a rowing boat, hired bikes and taken our own. It's great for feeding ducks, walking and cycling...  more »

  • Nice place to spend the day. Walk around the water as bout 8 miles. Can use your own cycle or hire from the shop. Light snacks for the shop.
  • There is a fantastic little cafe looking over the water! I make it a habit now of stopping there for a coffee and a cake when out on a ride or when I'm running round the lake! Staff are friendly and the scones are fresh!
  • Lovely place to walk cycle or run. A hidden gem. I think the path around the lake is a fraction over 8 miles...which is away from roads..with some great views across the lake. Lots of wildlife with bird hides for the bird watches...cycle hire cafe and water sports centre so plenty to do
  • Nice quiet cycle ride round the lake, reasonable prices if you need to hire a bike. Not too many other cyclists, pedestrians, and none of the path is on road. Worth visiting
  • On a sunny day with a bike it is beautiful. Tea was nice at the cafe.😎
