ShipSpace, Inverness

#3 of 10 in Museums in Inverness
Experience a slew of maritime wonders at ShipSpace, featuring displays of submarines, fishing boats, lifeboats, and much more. The incontestable highlight is the 1:10 scale Titanic model, where you can walk inside and discover the Parisian cafe, the bridge, and the Marconi wireless room. Don't miss the chance to use the booming fog horn. You can also enter the Nautile replica submarine and experience just how cramped the vessel is, or dress up as a captain and play the hero as you navigate the Watson-class lifeboat that saved 58 lives. • When someone turns their passion into a visitor experience, in their home, at their own expense you can’t help but admire it. The whole museum is a treat from the Titanic facts, to the countless items...  more »
  • Can not quite understand the whole good reviews. I went today with a friend there and we were both shocked. We went there expecting to see an interesting replica of the Titanic – instead we found a dump collapsing more in. We could not quite take seriously the 'titanic' in the garden, in the first room, a great people, snoring doll which scared the hell out of once really was. As we then between more and more rotting (you can see that here will be cleaned up, not renovated) parts of the ship found the entrance to the 'Museum', we were very disappointed - it was more the hobby room of a man of who is completely obsessed by the theme of Titanic. The exhibition contains some information such as pictures, news articles, and passenger lists which appear however coupled with toy models unreliable and are somehow not very seriously. We felt the entire visit as a creepy and was somewhat uncomfortable for us - there was no one there except the owner and home + garden were very abandoned and run-down. Tip: Who is fascinated by the theme of Titanic should go into an official Museum or exhibition - this is definitely not empfehlensewert and also dangerous from the outside, as slippery and degenerate! Conclusion: waste of time, Inverness has far better.
