Old High Church, Inverness, Inverness
Categories: Churches, Tourist Spots
Admire the wonders of Gothic architecture at Old High Church, Inverness. Dating back to the 18th century, the parish church stands tall overlooking the nearby river which has been worshiped since the Celts. Visit the oldest congregation and place of worship in Inverness supposedly founded by an Irish monk St Columba. Enter the church to see the organ restored in 2010 to perfect condition made by Father Willis, the renowned Victorian organ builder. Take a trip to the past and feel the eerie atmosphere of the building’s tall pointed arches which stand as a testament to the importance of religion in the area.
