Where to stay in Inverness

You’ll easily find bed and breakfasts and guesthouses convenient to the center of town in Inverness, from the cozy to more large-scale places, often with a view down to the River Ness, which later joins Loch Ness. For more affordable accommodation, look for a few budget hostels, as well as camping and caravan sites. If you've got a car, consider staying just outside the city in a quiet village, where you can explore the city by day and nature by evening. Since this is the largest city in the Highlands, you'll probably be able to find something last minute, but if you have a specific type of accommodtion in mind, it's a good idea to book in advance.

  • This is our second trip to Inverness the centre was being built last time......I'm afraid it's just like any other though nice and light...not many local shops mainly nationals  more »

  • Almost everything can be found in eastgate shopping centre. Huge and safe parking available
  • A good selection of shops very close to the bus and railway stations. A morrisons is accessed via a footbridge in Eastgate but you then go outside to get into the supermarket. Staff are friendly. A large marks and Spencer and Debenham.
  • It's a pretty good shopping centre. Has a lot of the essentials and nice that's it's indoors. Especially in winter.
  • I like this place because it can be bustling with shoppers going a bout their everyday business and seeming to enjoy the experience of being at the heart of retail power and all it can provide.
  • Decent sized shopping centre. Good selection of shops, but could use an upgrade.
