  • Lovely gardens especially at rhododendron time. Can be steep in places.
  • Lovely quiet peaceful. Beautiful surroundings and the range of trees was eye opening.
  • Wonderful place. The most beautiful garden I've visited.
  • Visited these gardens on 16th May 2016, arriving in a substantial and well laid out car park situated next to, what looks like a brand new visitor centre/shop. The staff were really helpful supplying us with a garden layout map which should make life easier. The first garden we came to was next to the visitor centre had wide flt paths which should accommodate wheelchair and ride on buggy users. The grass verges which surrounded well stocked beds were pristine and edges were sharp. This lowland garden was a precursor to the main event - The Himalayan Garden, renowned for its stunning Rhododendrons. Individuals who suffer from breathing or walking difficulties may find this difficult to do as there are several steep stairs that need to be tackled and there are no short cuts. However the struggle was rewarded by a stunning garden which makes full use of the natural elements that are in abundance. From the fast flowing stream and stunning waterfalls, to the cliff face which sets off the layering of Azaleas, Rhododendrons, Acer's and a huge selection of other tree and ground cover plantings. Just like what you see a Monet painting. The gardens are truly a work of art and well worth a visit.
  • So many possible walks you could spend hours here, getting lost whilst enjoying these gardens!
