White Scar Cave, Ingleton
Categories: Caves, Nature & Parks
A network of caves White Scar Cave features one of the longest-known cave chambers in Britain. You can even see helictites, cave formations that grow spirally, sideways, and every which way. In addition to touring this fascinating underground world, a cafe and a gift shop are also present. Stop by the visitor’s center to see a large-scale plan of the cave system, historic photographs, and material about nearby places of interest. Pay special attention if you are the last of the day to tour the caves. It is rumored a disembodied, murmuring voice follows the last guide out of the cave. Plan to see White Scar Cave and other attractions that appeal to you using our Ingleton vacation route planner.

We came here on a sunny afternoon and arrived just with a few minutes before a tour was about to begin. Advisable to maybe have a coat or long sleeves at least as obviously you are deep underground an... read more »

great if you've ever wanted to go underground without the danger , something everyone should see at least once
One of the best UK caves to visit. I would give 5 stars if I can be left alone to take pictures. I understand the reason for a guide and even why they want every group to move smoothly trough the cave, but its a shame not to have time in place like this one. Apart from this - just fantastic! Our guide was brilliant, with great knowledge and nice sense of humor, and the caves just breath taking. I would definitively recommend this place to friends.
Really interesting place. Reasonable price. I think it's about a mile in total in and out. Well worth visiting.
Fantastic viewing and a memorable visit also did the Ingleton falls walk
This hour-long guided walk underground through natural caverns following an underground river is well worth doing. There are some lengthy sections where you have to stoop as you walk but no crawling or really tight spaces so it's also pretty easy going.
