Brockhill Country Park, Hythe

4.4
Once part of the estate of a Norman manor, Brockhill Park has a central lake, open grassland and meadows, and all the facilities you need for a family day out, including a picnic area, a play area and refreshments at the excellent Brockhill Café.

The park is rich in wildlife, including marbled white butterflies, green woodpeckers and carpets of snowdrops. It is also a local wildlife site and has 3 distinctive areas to explore:

the deer paddock is an attractive grassy area featuring trees such as the walnut and the variegated sycamore

the lake is a shady oasis for wildlife fringed with overhanging trees, where ducks can be found paddling around its edges.
A visit to Brockhill Country Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Hythe trip planner to plot your vacation.

  • My wife's cousins took us to this beautiful park and to the veggie cafe. As a vegetarian (me) and a vegan (my wife) it was splendid to eat at this cafe. The quality was good and the service too.  more »
  • It was a dull day, but still had a great time. Had a fab lunch of homemade veggie lasagne which not only tasted amazing, but was fantastic value too! Loved the fact that all the food was veggie or veg...  more »
  • Visited here for the first time last weekend. It's a little way out for us but tried it as we have the KCC parking permit (well worth the money if you visit country parks regularly). The place is love...  more »

  • So much to do in all weather's for kids, dogs and adults alike. Car parking is a mere 1.50 all day (2.50@weekends) and sandling train station a five min walk if you haven't got the car. Fantastic, friendly veggie cafe on site at great prices and a secure play area to let the kids play after exploring the area. Plenty of picnic sites too.
  • Beautiful. Even on a rainy day. The cafe is totally vegetarian and you can get a good meal and a hot drink for under a fiver. Brilliant value for money.
  • Nice walks, with a small kids playground. The vegetarian cafe was nice with pleasant staff. £1.50 to park all day.
  • Great place for the kids to explore. Pick up a map and an activity pack on your way through. The vegetarian cafe has a wonderful selection - spoilt for choice ! Play area great for 2-3+yr olds. Whatever the season the kids will be entertained. Word of advice to parents with young children is to use sling/carriers/reins as theres little or no barrier by the pond.
  • Beautiful and peaceful . Vegetarian restaurant very tasty and good prices
