  • Although it was raining the museum is split into 20 buildings so you can easily get out of weather. Found it really interesting and better than I thought it would be.. Your ticket is also valid for 12...  more »
  • Whilst on holiday in the area we drove past this place several times. It looked pretty small and insignificant and not very exciting so we kept driving! On our last day we'd visited everywhere else on...  more »
  • This museum took me by surprise as it seems very small from the outside and their website did not do it justice. We wrongly assumed it would just be all about agriculture with a few farming implements...  more »

  • Fantastic museum which offers a full day out for the family at a very reasonable price. There's plenty to do across at least 4 acres of land and the Harrison Collection is ridiculously well done. The buildings are unique and each one has its own tale to tell. The village itself is just as picturesque. Disabled access throughout and use of mobility scooters, which is a nice touch. There are activity days throughout the year where you can experience rural crafts and learn new skills. By far the best living history museum in the area.
  • The museum is a real hidden gem and well worth a visit. It is dog and wheelchair friendly and has far more to explore than you would think from looking at the entrance - it is certainly a good days visit to look at everything. The displays are very good and I would compare the site to such as Beamish and the like with loads of attention to detail with fabulous buildings and artefacts to look at. I will definitely recommend my friends and family to come across and pay the museum a visit, and the entry ticket lasts a year as well so we will likely return soon.
  • Highly recommended by a friend and we found it to be well worth the visit. A lovely welcome from the team, and the ticket is valid all year abd grants miney off in the village cafes and pub. Family friendly with lots of different things to see and do. Safe for my little niece to explore with the added bonus of being able to feed the pigs and chickens. The team have put a great deal of time and thought into all aspects of the presentation and everything is wonderfully well cared for.
  • Excellent museum. Well thought out and interesting examples of local history. Child and dog friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere. Lots to see and tickets last all year.
  • Excellent museum, with live events and interactive displays, go in and experience the actual houses that have been taken down and rebuild in the museum. Worth every penny to visit. 2-4 hour visit.
