  • Beautiful gardens. Knowledgeable staff. Good food. Good plants.
  • We visited this garden in late June this year, and we fell in love! We go to A LOT of gardens, most of which are ok, or disappointing. This garden however was a hidden gem! It knocks spots off places like Hidcote! I have only once seen another garden equal to Merriments, and that was "Abbey House Gardens" in June 2010 (the Naked Gardeners place). Merriments is a true joy, every aspect and vista is beautiful and the planting sublime. I cannot praise this garden highly enough. The staff were friendly in the shop, and the ladies in the tea room rush around with smiles and polite friendly conversation. This place is perfect, my only disappointment is that is not closer to where I live, as I would visit it over and over to watch how it changes through the year. If you are a true gardener, you will love this. As for previous reviews giving this one star as some bird attraction was gone, please, it is a garden not an aviary - get real and do your homework first. And Mr 2 stars calling it an advert for the garden centre? What planet do you live on, a garden is a garden. There were no price tags attached to plants in the gardens, how can you see it as an advert? I for one was glad to buy a plant I had never seen before without having to spend weeks hunting one down. Some people just like to slate a place for the sake of it. I could happily spend hours here, soaking in the views. Also, as I am disabled and have trouble walking, I was delighted that there are so many benches carefully placed, to allow the weary and the less able, to rest between each part. Trust me, this one is worth every penny if you truely love plants & stunning well thought through design.
  • We came from Suffolk at the weekend and fell in love with the gardens which were wonderful and I was impressed with the shop, cafe and the staff who were so nice . And we will come again.
  • Great for some unusual plants and lunch/afternoon tea
  • This small garden is well executed. There are numerous plants and they are well looked after. However I got the strong impression that it was designed as a collection of adverts for the associated garden centre. Much better to visit Marchants Hardy if you want to see a garden someone is passionate about.
