  • Jiggers Steakhouse Restaurant at Johnsons of Old Hurst. The most superb steak you will ever eat - period. A field to fork experience. You can't get more local produce! A beautiful restaurant with lovely staff. We have just been on the opening night. Make sure you go for the Hand Cut Skin Chips! We had the 12oz rib-eye steak but for any serious steak lover they do a Porterhouse 24oz steak. Andy Johnson bought one out to show us and it's not for the faint hearted. The new restaurant decor is fantastic. From the gorgeous limestone bar to the large dance floor. Lovely Chandelier lighting accompanied by oak tables and chairs. It has been very well thought out. Perfect for families and couples and plenty of car parking. If you like your red wines try a bottle of Mad Dog. You won't regret it. I wish every success to Johnsons of Old Hurst.
  • The shop is exceptionally good and takes all four stars - it loses out on a fifth because it is so let down by the new steakhouse. The restaurant is housed in a truly cavernous barn at the centre of which is an immense dance floor. The impression is that food come second to floor shows and, indeed the food is unremarkable while the price is remarkably high by local standards. This is no place for a quiet, intimate dinner, or even a particularly good one. Forget fine dining. This place should be a great showcase for the shop's excellent products but it isn't and the steakhouse seems completely completely misconceived . What a pity. I hope I'm wrong.
  • Well run place for the family to visit. Exotic animals including crocodiles, deer, turkeys in addition to the usual farm animals. Th shop has the widest range of farm produce that I have seen anywhere. Lovely cafe and a fine recently opened restaurant.
  • One of the finest butchers around, amazing selection of fresh meats a lot of it grown on site. Brilliant selection of cheeses as well. Lots of fresh produce and some frozen too. Has a wonderful play area for kids, a superb cafĂ© and is soon to be opening their very own steak house... what more is there to want?
  • Some of the best produce going around. They have got a great selection of beef cuts, fantastic sausages, cheeses, chicken, lamb and pork. They also sell more exotic meat like zebra and buffalo. Also a great selection of local beers and spirits are available. Love it
