  • Went here for a first time with my camera and I loved it. It was so much bigger than what I had expected. It had many beautiful sights to see and it was a really enjoyable walk where I managed to get ...  more »
  • A great place to walk our beagle. Although the park doesn't look all that big the walks seem to go on forever and I'm always coming across new paths and walkways. It's great for families too.  more »
  • First visit for some years and it's much better for some TLC and restoration. Clean, well maintained and improved by committed volunteers. Main thing you notice is it's not your average park. Not much...  more »
  • A Fab park, something for everyone, gentle wide pathways at the top with great views over the Holme Valley. Kids play area's and for the more adventurous walks into the woods and beyond. We go at least twice a week and never fail to enjoy it.
  • I LOVE this park. It's well laid out and maintained to near perfection. Ideally situated, the many smooth, well kept pathways are cut into a natural stone cliff. From the top I was awestruck by the fantastic panoramic views, and vistas of the surrounding countryside. The park also contains several places of historic interest. From old stone quarries and railways, to ruins from more recent buildings - most notably - The Castle Hotel , built circa 1908, closed 1959, finally demolished 1968. The park is just the right size to easily contain wonderful stone grottos and water fountains and cascades, as well as a good sized children's park, immaculate lawns and garden areas - and a fabulous monkey puzzle tree and wooden statues among the many other points of interest. With room left over for bandstands and ample space for local events, bands, tea party's ect.... Yet it's not too big so you become easily lost. Perfect for nature lovers, dog walkers, family picnics / walks and lots, lots more. I could wax lyrical for a week and still not be able to mention all the activities and beautiful sights, sounds, and scents that await discovery in this fantastic park.
  • Lovely spot for walking beautiful traditional park and lots of things for the kids to do during the holidays
  • I love this park it's beautiful and such a nice walk but not the best for under 2s. The playgrounds very basic and it's pretty tough to walk around with a push chair.
  • Nice but not all disabled/ wheelchair friendly and no wheelchair/ disabled parking . Wouldn't say really disabled friendly
