Performances, gigs, theatre, dance, events; The Old Market, recently renovated, is a dynamic cultural venue just outside the city centre.

The Old Market’s main space is a 300-500 capacity room with the flexibility to showcase everything from rock bands to exciting new theatre or cabaret. Recently re-fitted, The Old Market (or TOM for short) is also home to rehearsal spaces, production facilities and art and photography galleries. TOM’s bar, open on all event nights, hosts its own entertainment from comedians to film screenings.

  • The varied programme at TOM is a joy. I've seen bands and shows here and it's a high quality, trendy venue. The bar is good too. And if you need a local boozer after your ents then the Bottom's Rest n...  more »
  • Saw a stunning performance of Chorus Line here on Saturday night. The seats were great (not allocated) and front of house service excellent. Lovely architecture and a fab bar too.  more »

  • A great theatre and arts hub in Brighton. Great staff too. Oh and there's a very nice bar there as well.
  • A gem of a theatre, with easy-to-use facilities for putting on performances, yet with an informal approach to letting its audience feel part of the proceedings. I enjoyed both the show (a literary evening) and the conversations in the bar before and after; and am looking forward to attending future events here.
  • Lovely venue, good bar (even make tea and cofee!) had a great night out! Would come back 100%
  • Great venue in so many ways. I want to love it. But after 2 gigs where the vocalist is almost drowned out - I can only conclude that something isn't quite right here. I'll keep going in hope though.
  • Great venue. Saw a one man play, with a chance to meet the writer and actor afterwards. Staff were friendly and helpful
