Simulating life 100 years ago, Ulster Folk & Transport Museum gives visitors a historical Irish cultural experience. The folk section dedicates 69 hectares (170 acres) to a selection of old Irish buildings and dwellings, collected from all over the country and rebuilt brick by brick. Stroll through Ballycultra, a recreated Ulster village, as you chat with costumed guides. The transport section houses an extensive collection of horse-drawn carriages, electric trams, motorbikes, fire engines, and vintage cars, telling the story of transportation in Ireland. The Irish Railway Collection features 150 years of railway history. The museum houses a permanent Titanic exhibition documenting the construction, voyage, and sinking of the vessel. • Awesome place, easily missed by tourists. The transport museum is a must see, lots of original trains, trams, buses n tram cars, horse buggies, lots of history in a short place. Keep one whole day. There's airplanes, n sea section too, nice walk on a clear day. The model railway look like it does not work anymore. The folk museum on the other side is beautiful too, prepare to walk a few kms, as its a sprawling lace. They have recreated Ireland of yesterday beautiful ly, with towns, shops, villages, churches n all. Even ppl working there wear costumes of old Ireland. Worth spending time on.

  • Simply amazing place, it literally transports you to another world. You can spend the whole day here but go when the weather is good.
