  • We were fortunate to have beautiful weather on the day of our visit. The sun shone and it was very mild for early March. A broad path leads from the centre of the village to the old coastguard lookout...  more »

  • Only word to describe this is Idyllic. Great views, lots of walks and nice shops.
  • A beautiful, unspoilt island nature reserve. Lots of footpaths around the island allow easy exploration. The village community has pubs, hotels and shops. Keep an eye (and ear) out for the hundreds of grey seals that congregate on the sand bars when the tide is out.
  • Great place, especially when you consider that it's completely cut off for so many hours daily, we ate at the Crown and lobster good food, good choice and very reasonable. Visited the castle and the priory. Plenty to do.
  • Absolutely gorgeous, one of the most beautiful places I have been to!
  • A beautiful, remote island packed full of history and charm. Cut off from the mainland by a tidal causeway, Holy island is a brilliant place to bring the family. Visit the historical ruins, the castle, local shops and the beaches. A great local day out. Look out for the seals playing in the bay L
