Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve is a 3,541-hectare (8,750-acre) UK national nature reserve. It was founded to help safeguard the internationally important wintering bird populations, and six internationally important species of wildfowl and wading birds winter here. For the pale-bellied brent geese from Svalbard, this is their only regular wintering place in all of the United Kingdom. Pinkfooted and greylag geese, wigeons, grey plovers and bar-tailed godwits are the other visitors.

  • Always wanted to visit here, and I was not disappointed. We booked a short break just before the Nov 2020 lockdown was in place and it was just the ticket for a relaxing, bracing, beautiful break.  more »

  • We drove on the causeway and parked in the main carpark. It cost £5.50 for 24 hours. We walked past the castle and followed the coastal path with stunning views to the huge white pyramid shaped...  more »
  • Gorgeous place, I go here every year but it's best when people have left the island as it is quieter and there are some great sunsets/rises and is even quite stunning in storms. I highly recommend especially if you stay overnight because you get the best of it.
  • Amazing, breath taking scenery, great for a adventure and one of the Best places to be, shops are little and small but wouldn't expect anything else and the castle well you can learn so much of the info the Heritages we have in England U.K. But be careful you could get Stuck for a couple of hours as you get to watch the Sea/Tide take over the Road on the Causway
  • So idyllic and beautiful. I haven't visited in years, except for when I've been fishing, but worth a visit. Do check the tide times though, because if you get it wrong, you might have to spend the afternoon in the pub 🤪🤪🤪
  • What a beautiful peaceful place to visit. Plenty of free parking and lots of lovely pubs and tea rooms
