Popped into Holsworthy Golf Club to sample their Sunday Carvery, we weren't disappointed. We had a table overlooking the 18th green, lovely views, just wish my lawn at home looked so good! You are cal... more »

Had a lovely roast overlooking the 18th hole. Succulent pork and beef with yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes and a choice of 5 veg served by friendly, smartly dressed staff. The desserts were ... more »
Wonderful carvery in the restaurant here. Beautifully cooked, melt in the mouth meats and tender, perfectly cooked veggies. The red cabbage in particular is excellent, as is the home-made stuffing.
Ilfracombe and District Lions Club
A bit wet under foot when we went as I don't think the course takes water too well. But the greens were drying nicely and squelching did not detract from a great day. Played it a couple of times before and same holes catch me out. Staff and pro really friendly. Definitely going back; it's an easy drive to/from Ilfracombe Golf Club.
ANNOYED, DISAPPOINTED, POOR SERVICE Where to start... Myself and my brother booked a round of golf on a Saturday morning, we had been staying down in Devon and being keen golfers we decided to take our clubs and enjoy a nice round of golf whilst we were down on our holiday! We were staying about 40 mins from holsworthy golf club and had many local options to where we were staying but found holsworthy on our search and it looked a really good course and a good price! We arrived on a nice Saturday morning at about 7:40am ready to tee off at 8am! When we arrived at the tee there were some other member ready to go so naturally they went before us... We enjoyed through 6 holes seeing the course build up and become very busy... Must have been a tournament on? Indeed there was... And we had not been told this! Now I'm not a slow golfer by any means and neither is my brother who's a very handy 14 handicap! And I myself playing of 21! But on the 7th hole we were approached by a member who was very rude insinuating that we were holding up play in a special competition... We at this point were a bit taken back... As we didn't know there was a competition on in the first place! We had people still in front of us so at this point we skipped onto the 9th! But on the way we came across the same member... Where my brother took the opportunity to give his point of view, only to be told well go and tell those people in front of you to hurry up or let you through then! Now personally this was courageous and really upset the days play for us both. After we finalised the days play we went straight to the pro-shop, at this point we were both very abrupt and put our point of view across wanting something to be done about it and quite frankly our money back. Since then my brother has spoken to the golf club on 4 occasions and they have just delayed and delayed, and if anything feels like there just hoping we forget about it so they don't have to speak to us again. As you can tell i write this very disappointed in the service given by the club and its members attitudes. Other than this its a very nice course.
Consistently open due to extensive drainage improvements over past four years - a quality challenge at all h,cap levels + really friendly members and staff. Try it. You will not be disappointed. Golf chat or grub. Pyworthy pilgrim.
