  • A delightful insight as to what school must have been like in Victorian times, fun and very educational for children , as they can dress up in costume of the era to enhance the experience!
  • An interesting visit. Have tried to visit a few times but opening times are restricted so always check before you go. You get to see the inside of some model classrooms which are interesting. There is...  more »

  • This is such a lovely place. There are several classrooms and a Victorian cottage to explore. Children can use old fashioned ink wells and play with a range of Victorian toys. The staff are volunteers and are friendly and knowledgeable. You can have a personal tour if you like! Although the museum is quite small you can spend many hoirs there because of the number of interactive activities. Much recommended.
  • This is a very well considered museum with great staff and volunteers. It marks an important set of steps in educational history and allows for participation and close inspection of the exhibits to really understand how the classes and monitorial system worked. Congratulations to hitching, the trustees and the staff / volunteers - something to be very proud of. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable visit.
  • I have been one of the volunteers here for many years and it's a great pleasure to be one of the team. We aim to give all visitors a really enjoyable and interesting experience.
