  • A lovely day out both for a family with children and for adults only. You do need a good amount of time to enjoy it all though. We saw the gardens and went for a tour around the castle. Our two guides were very nice and the tour was very engaging. We liked the place so much that we took out a yearly membership there. Looking forward to going back. Would gladly recommend visiting.
  • This place is quite historic to me. I remembered this is where I sworned my British citizenship 7 years ago.. Glad they opened it now for the public.. The tour is very informative especially if you are a fan of the Royal family.. The garden is nice and the cafe served great food... Will be back with my young ones someday.
  • Beautiful walks and a house full of history and stories going back for centuries. Great place to spend a few hours. The tour was very informative and our guide, Elizabeth was great with the children. Staff were incredibly attentive all round. Worth a visit.
  • Fantastic place to visit on a day out! - beautiful gardens - the guided tour of the Castle is well worthwhile but would advise booking online before visiting - two good coffee shops in the grounds - good car parking available - lots of paths for you to make your way through the castle grounds - a few hills here and there, but relatively level and good walking surfaces Definitely a place I will go back to again!
  • Absolutely fabulous. Beautiful gardens. Great facilities for food which was excellent quality. Toilets were spotless and well situated. Every member of staff polite and friendly. The Castle tour was very enjoyable and informative. Parking off A1 and plenty of spaces. Would highly recommend.
