The Engine House is an education centre at Highley station on the Severn Valley Railway. Opened in March 2008, it houses some of the railway's out of service locomotives, wagons and coaches. In addition to the equipment listed below, exhibits include railway artifacts and a film about the Severn Valley Railway. Amenities include a restaurant, gift shop and picnic area.

  • There is a variety of Locomotives on display here which you can inspect plus there is plenty of information regarding there origin and use.

  • Whilst visiting SVR to experience both the Flying Scotsman and Tornado trains we stopped at The Engine House. Very interesting, shame we couldn't stay longer

  • Lovely museum of steam, great day out, free entry if you buy a day return ( Freedom of the line) ticket on the railway. Well worth going. Nice people too.
  • Some very nice steam locos inside and you can get up close and personal with the engines
  • Excellent venue, friendly staff and loads of information and trains to look at. It is a must visit if you are traveling on the Severn Valley Railway.
  • Modern, spacious and air conditioned museum dedicated to steam railway history. Very friendly staff and excellent views of the nearby railway.
  • It brought back many good memories of yesteryear but also very enlightening.
