  • The cafe is wonderful, has vegan friendly options. The barn is filled with hundreds of book titles, but they are (of course) all very old. Not in any particular order either, save by genre, so it can be quite difficult to find what you're after (if, say, a particular author). However they do have a search computer if you're after a specific title.
  • Yes, there are loads of books, but many are fairly rubbish and well out of date, though admittedly that sometimes throws up some wonderfully weird gems! Relaxed atmosphere and there is a very nice café there too. If you're prepared to spend a length of time amongst the books, and look meticulously, you'll probably go home with a few interesting books you didn't know existed. Note that a lot of books are on unsorted shelves.
  • I love this place so much. Thousands of £1 books, and loads more cheap books to order from computers. I can't spend less than 3 hours here, ever. Love love love. Also, the café is great, with wonderful drinks and really yummy vegetarian food.
  • The sort of place you can spend half a day. Between the cafe selling a satisfying collection of sandwiches, snacks and pastries (all sourced from a local independent baker), the cosy wood burner, the comfy chairs and the unbeatable wealth of books you'll loose hours here. If you're a real bookworm then source a cardboard box for your trip, with every one of the million books stocked priced at just £1 (aside from the rare and antique books, kept seperately) you'll need it to lug your new acquisitions home. Tip: always look through the 'unsorted' section, it's where you find the real gems!
  • Excellent choice and really helpful, friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
