  • Very informative and well to imagine through the shown 3D film was life on Hadrian's wall. It is worthwhile to solve the Combi-ticket to a few kilometres further in Vinlandia visit even the excavations. You must do both in one day. Also a short walk along the wall is impressive.

  • Went on a trip when visiting Vindolanda as my daughter was interested. All three children were really hooked on the information from the exhibits. There is a 3D film which is brilliant. An Avatar teac...  more »
  • Good information. Interactive and new. We enjoyed a couple of hours here learning about the wall before walking a section of it. The film was good with great aerial views of the wall  more »

  • Disabled access throughout. It is quite a small museum but nicely done with some interesting exhibits. It took us at most an hour and would probably take most people less time to go round. Visited June 2016
  • Great day out, the museum really have tried to show how life was in the Roman army at the time, very informative and mainly inside.
  • Great place to visit. Buy tickets for both the Roman Army and Vindolanda at the same time and save money.
  • This is a great place. Staff friendly and helpful whilst unobtrusive, welcoming space. Multi media without overdoing it; interesting and well presented. Doesn't overreach itself. Great wheelchair access. Recommended.
  • This is more of an entertainment park for children than a museum. The first room managed to give me a headache with a looping tape of someone acting out a role as a Roman soldier, with a bizarre Italian accent. If you are an adult group, skip the expense of the extra £4 and stick to the single ticket to visit the archaeological site at Vindolanda, which has a far more interesting museum, or just go and walk the Walltown Crags for free, which are just a quarter mile along a footpath to the east, with the most breathtaking views along Hadrian's Wall.
