  • Not quite sure where to start with place, it needs a lot work. The children have had a great time bowling don't get me wrong but we were very much left to own devices. I have to ask for ramps and heat...  more »

  • I don't know why this place doesn't have more stars - or, for that matter, more visitors! On a number of occasions we have been the only people using a lane. Perhaps it is because the building is hidden away from the rest of the city and tucked behind the train station, or maybe people are put off by the rating - whatever the reason, it's a great shame as MFA is a gem of a place! My fiancé and I go there roughly once a week and we've never had a bad experience. It has this really cosy and homely feel to it despite being in a huge and open brick factory-style building, with rustic American decor and signage on the walls. There's a bar, snooker and pool areas, a diner, lots of seating, optional bowling shoes (free), arcade games, sweets and toy machines, 14 lanes, 7 of which are upstairs, toilets, and an outdoor area including mini golf, a sheltered seating/smoking area and a car park. There's also an extra room for private parties, and gatherings of all ages are catered for. The staff are always very friendly and polite. On Tuesdays there are a number of deals for £2, including games, beers and burgers, and Sunday is the pub quiz which is good fun. The guy who runs it is very funny - his talents are wasted there! In all seriousness, give MFA a try and you'll definitely have a good time!
  • Easy going staff, relaxed atmosphere, kids really enjoyed themselves so the parents were happy. Better than the big corporate alleys.
  • Dingy, old, dull and not well looked after venue. The bowling alley is awful, the balls have scrapes and dents in the so they do not usually roll evenly as the are supposed to, the bowling alley itself is very old and dull. No colour, nothing vibrant it fresh, it looks and feels warn down. You can also play pool and arcade games here which are good however the feel of the buidling in general.is not good.
  • Very good quick service
  • Gone downhill since changed hands. No soft drink mixers, no card payments and a lack of customer service. Whole place feels a bit unloved.
