  • The staff at the site are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. There is a lot left of the castle itself, making for an interesting day out. Coupled with some rare, but lovely, weather and you couldn't ask for more. The visit was so good, we went back again a couple of weeks later.. well worth a visit!
  • Beautiful historical castle in beautiful surroundings. Steeped in history.
  • Besides being inside of the national park, the views here are extra special from the castle grounds. Part of the English Heritage collection, the castle ruins and grounds are a nice treat on a sunny day. There are places to explore and plenty of signs around to tell you what you are looking at. The gift shop has a nice selection of gifts and nic-nacs so don't go home empty handed. The friendly staff will give you all of the information you need to get going. Parking is really close and cheap. The town is a nice 2nd adventure for after you are done the castle.
  • Beautiful gardens and lovely cafe . Love the little businesses around too like lazenbys gallery and the cake room.
  • Gotta give it a visit...(english heritage)
