  • Was a very enjoyable afternoon walking around the gardens and seeing the house. Really nice plants and not too fussy with the planting of the beds, vegetable garden was a treat and nice to look at. Finish up with a coffee and cake. Superb.
  • Delightful gardens and deer park. Great food and cakes from the tea rooms. Well worth a visit.
  • Can't visit the Hall but the gardens are worth seeing. Mind the bisons though.
  • This is an amazing property. The gardens are truly fabulous and are the creation of one of the world’s leading Landscape Designers, playfully based of the ancient site. I was delighted to see a delicious mixture of formal and informal English garden space co-mingling with such intimacy, decorative vegetables put on display and integrated into design and of course those eye-candy, toy-shaped hedges in the walled garden. I took several pictures of the Dahlia collection near sunset and my family went bonkers over the subtle and sophisticated beauty. The property is unique with a moated residence and, importantly, is still an active, ongoing residence. It is so delightful and a privilege to see a significant property still being used today. If lucky, you can spy the Lord or Lady of the house! The grounds are extensive and there is so much more to see. However, Helmingham was one of the top gardens and experiences I had on my tour of English gardens. The family is very kind to open its gates on a limited basis to the public.
  • Extensive stock of plants and many diverse areas of garden. One of my favourite gardens in the country.
