  • Loved Hermitage Castle, fantastic history and very spooky!! beautiful scenery all around ans the wee walk to the chapel ruins was lovely my family had a great day out :)
  • A great location for a day out despite the dark history of the castle. We had a great time exploring the castle and grounds and lucked out for a beautiful day.
  • A castle as a castle should be. Grim and dark, prickling your fantasy.
  • A sanctuary and fortress or a place of terror and fear depending on whose side you were deemed to be on. Good info boards and guide book. The pit is particularly gruesome if you think about being placed in it!Go walking by the river and up to the chapel. This place is atmospheric with its very own creepy energy.
