  • This castle is by now well-known because of the delightful walk through Wepper Park to gain access; although a short route may be used from the Ewloe - Northop Hall Road. It has to my mind an eerie at...  more »
  • This is a cute castle to walk out too, some great trails around it as well. Quite the mystery as to why it was built. Free to see!
  • If this were in England, English Heritage or the National Trust would be asking a fiver entry. But this is free. Accessed across a field and tucked away in a woodland is this beautiful castle. Also ex...  more »
  • Good walk gentle with boardwalks by a flowing shallow river and dense woods. Some steps up towards castle but not difficult and has hand bars. Unspoiled if it was NT it would be busy every weekend so it's a bit of a hidden gem for now. Own carpark and cafe make it perfect.
  • Nice walk but the actual castle can be overrun with kids climbing the walls. Its just waiting for a major accident to happen there
  • Brilliant find in the middle of Wepre park - you can climb up onto the old keep for a good view of the rest of the ruins
  • Amazing little castle hidden away in the woods. Turns out no logical reason for it to be in the woods! Other than a statement of power n wealth. Its Great fun to explore the vally and castle and they have made the castle so that you can talk on parts of it. + up the tower!
  • Great to take the kids
