Haslemere Museum is situated in Southwest Surrey near the Hampshire and West Sussex borders. With over 240,000 Natural History specimens, along with over 140,000 Human History artefacts from around the World, we are one of the largest Museums in central southern England.

There are three large permanent galleries and three temporary exhibition rooms, with a library, archive and a dedicated education room for people of all ages.

The grounds cover an area of over 15,000sq metres, with a large pond and gazebo, an observation beehive and a tree trail that follows the Museum´s boundary through an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. National Trust land is nearby for long or short walks in the countryside.

  • Fab museum for kids of all ages. Very hands on exhibits, a fun room for them to play and colour and friendly, relaxed staff. It doesn’t have its own parking but you can park in the main pay and display car park in the town. The museum is only a few minutes walk away.
  • An excellent day out. Lots to do with little ones. Tons of fascinating exhibits and activities. Great fun 😁👍
  • Great little museum with a diversity of displays from Egyptian mummies to local geology. Make sure you go in the gardens where there are beautiful dew ponds and peace.
  • Surprisingly good collection, maybe a bit dated, but what can you expect from a local educational museum. The temporary exhibition was definitely worth it!
  • The museum has an impressive collection ranging from an actual mummy to butterflies and even an active bee hive. The volunteers on site are more than happy to answer any questions or provide assistance if required. Great place to bring children and a very cheap activity to keep you busy for a couple of hours.
