  • We recently visited the Heugh Battery Museum. It’s not the biggest , it’s not the most Hi-Tec and some may say its run down and lacks investment. But don’t let that put you off. The site is steeped in...  more »

  • Piece of NE history that you should visit if you are local. Stuff to keep kids interested & a cafe As well as the battery itself an Interesting selection of artillery & AA guns. Views along the coast are great too
  • Heugh Battery is definitely worth a visit. A fabulous array of WW1 artifacts and rich in modern history surrounding the early events of the Great war.
  • Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Dog friendly. Our kids loved it (age 3 and 6). Keep an eye on little ones though as there are a few treacherous areas with big drops and no railings. On site cafe very reasonable. Accessible toilets and cafe. Parts of the museum would not be accessible by wheelchair or buggy dues to stairs. With gift aid your ticket lasts a year. Great place.
  • The Heugh Gun Battery in Hartlepool is a poignant reminder of what happened to those Brave service men who defended our coastline giving Thier lives for Thier country. The Volunteers who have such great knowledge are a credit to the Headland. Let us all support this battery we cannot afford to lose it .
  • Great museum, lot's to see. Friendly staff. Some outside exhibits need some TLC but being volunteer run they will get round to it. Puts bigger attractions to shame. Takes about 2 hour's to do it.
