  • A fantastic section of Hadrian's Wall which has sweeping views across the country side. Quite a hilly start, if heading east from the quarry car park but it soon eases to a more gradual climb before levelling off in a few miles. Cawfield Quarry car park is ideal with plenty of space, picnic tables & loos. The car parking is pay & display, circa £3 ~ ish for the day, but the ticket is valid at all 6 English Heritage sites along the wall, so quite good value for money, for a car parking charge! The area boasts suffering from some of the least light pollution in England & is supposed to be ideal for star gazing. This location would be ideal & there is a star map on display to help get you started.
  • amazing views
  • Breathtaking natural beauty and a dark sky zone, shame it was cloudy when we were going to visit at night!
  • Awesome!
