Borough Market is a Victorian covered market in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. The market occupies a town centre site between Southgate, Albion Street and Market Street. The glass and wrought iron covered marketplace, surrounded by stone built shops and accommodation, was built between 1891 and 1896 and opened by the future King George V and Queen Mary. The design included three public houses on the Market Street side and fishmongers' shops on Albion Street with the remaining exterior shops all being butchers' shops. The award winning market is open six days a week with some 125 market stalls.

  • Friendly little market ...colletas cafe a must cheap cheerful ...everything u need in one place good opening hours plenty of choice . And also different cultures shops 
  • A very attractive old-fashioned Yorkshire market in a beautiful building. General stalls offering everything from hardware to fruit and veg. I had a nice Thai meal here once.

  • A reasonable market, depending on what you need. The actual building is beautiful. Check out the balconies and roof! It's historic and there are some good butchers there. Keep an eye out for the Thai cafe - their food is great!
  • Wonderfull lits of shops selling allsorts redmans is ace
  • How more towns should showcase themselves. Brilliant market with a great variety of stalls
  • Good choice of stores but a large amount of the stalls remain empty as the years go by. Great place to buy from butchers or other fresh produce.
  • T Richardson Butchers and Farmers The oldest TradingTraditional butcher left in the town still the best value Yorkshire meat you will find.
