The Old Loom Mill Craft Centre & Tearooms reviews
This was a lovely craft centre with many local craft people exhibiting. Sold fabric and wool with a small tearoom. Latterly had empty spaces due to uncertainty of the future and is sadly now closed... more »
We stopped off here while cycling along the Cuckoo Trail. It's a perfect stop-off point halfway down the Trail with a ncie tea room, friendly staff, good selection of cakes and a nice view over the... more »
I used to love coming to visit this place with my aunt but what a disappointment, unfriendly staff, empty stall spaces and a minuscule selection of fabrics and wool. Don’t waste your time visiting... more »
Real shame half of it has closed but really happy to find the cafe still open, the food still delicious and the staff very friendly! Great place to stop on a cycle/ ride/ run or walk. They take card and very family friendly.
This is a really sweet and quirky little place to have coffee and cake and waste some time looking at the crafts. It's like a rambling old farm house in disrepair - it probably was at some point. The staff are really cheery and the coffee was very good. I've knocked off half a point because I think the cake was a bit old and dry. It was still very yummy and I really enjoyed my visit here. The plaque (pictured) near the front door is really interesting and I really hope it's preserved for future generations. We sat near the old wood burner which is charming but... and it's a big but... I'm reliably informed by my co cake eater that even the most efficient wood burners create as much pollution as 5 HGVs, heck! Really? There goes the other half point, sorry.
The Craft Hall is closing for good on 31st January, and there is very little stock in the sales area, so much so that I wouldn't bother to go there again. Great shame as I have been a customer for over 30 years and will miss it greatly. I'm also very sorry for the ladies who run the cafe!!
It's a shame, a lot of the crafters seem to have gone now. It looks half empty. The fabric shop seems to sell more wool than fabric now too. The little cafe is just the same which is fantastic. This place used to be bustling with people. Hiring bikes, the pottery place and the craft hall and cafe.
There are some beautiful craft pieces for sale, but not as many stalls as there were because it's closing down Still worth a visit though. Also has a cafe
