  • What an amazing day! Booked on the day experience - Wow! Andy was so knowledgeable & skilful with the birds, the incredible relationship he had with those we handled was inspiring. I was able to handle approx 11 birds of various sizes across the day, kestrels, vultures, a bald eagle & a very cheeky owl called 'Cash', culminating in a woodland walk with 'Titch', a Harris Hawk. Thank you for making my dreams of being close to such amazing creatures a reality. A must for bird-lovers of all ages. Highly recommended.
  • The owl hour experience was brilliant! Andy was very helpful and gave us so much information about the birds. This really is very good value for money - we spent a full 15 - 20 minutes before the hour looking around the whole site and then began with the flying and feeding of the birds. We saw five beautiful birds and learned a lot about them and their care. The site is beautifully maintained and located in a sheltered area behind the Garden Centre. My wife - whose 'present' this was - is 69 and loved every minute; though it's suitable for pretty much any age! The hour was just right for us and we shall certainly do this again. Many thanks to Andy and all the Staff. John and Liz Dabbs. 08/03/16.
  • Not bad for a quick day out, the birds are beautiful and stunning to look at. The flying display was slightly disappointing with only one small bird doing one flight and then being held while eating. This took around 20 minutes.
  • Lots of birds to see (maybe circa thirty - I didn't count!) including hawks, falcons, eagles, owls, vultures and a chatty (yes) raven. You get to see them pretty close and, if timed right, when they're eating lunch too (fascinating to watch but I guess quite gory if you're squeamish - lots of dead chicks and rats!) The birds are exercised (around 1pm) and fly around area and you get to see them close-up. Knowledgeable staff (the guy we saw told us he has worked there for decades, and therefore knows the birds well) who talk you through the birds they're exercising and will answer questions if you see them walking round. Took my 3 yr old for two hours; maybe twenty mins walking round and the rest watching display (you could stay longer as they bring the birds out one by one so could see more but we had to leave for school run). Enjoyable visit. Will be back also with my 5 yr old very soon. Recommend a visit. :)
  • Excellent hotel, great location!
