  • Great place for walkers, who enjoy countryside and sea air all at the same time. Finish off with a coffee and cake at the salvation army cafe.  more »
  • On a mild February day my friend and I did a circular walk from the salvation army carpark (£1 per hour, but free parking is available nearby) around the country park. With the café behind you walk up...  more »

  • Compare to other mountain biking centres this one is very poorly marked. We couldn't find the beginning. The runs of red and blue trail in the begging are definitely not for inexperienced riders or for road bikes as I read somewhere written! There are not many technical bits on the blue route and the trail is not smoothly flowing. If you want proper trails you have to go to Wales!
  • Lots of well kept mountain bike trails for all abilities and a decent shop and cafe to boot. There was a bike demo day going on when we visited, so it was a great experience to ride the trails on modern bikes.
  • - Sloes, damsons, apples, blackberries, rosehips all there for the taking (in mid September) - Nice ramble between Benfleet and Leigh on Sea - Amenities at Salvation Army cafe - If I had a mountain bike and were 15, I would be here every day - Impressively thorough information signs, both historical and ecological - Iron age house, great location for 'ancient' videos...
  • Is ok for young families other than that..... try Danbury common, 100% better and no rip off prices at cafe (for a place tax payers help fund)
  • Took family to day out here was nearly ruined by rude staff when I asked what facilities where avalible for disabled and was told by two members of staff that the disabled are not catered for and nor will they be all they might offer is a cafe but that won't take more than an hour hense they don't allow that annoying blue badge freebie scheme either!!! Well I had hoped that would be the end of it till the female short haired official later that day grabbed a small child and yelled at them and made them cry.. could be great the staff totally let the whole place down shame really!!
