Easy walking with the dog ... and the bonus of being able to visit the Coffee Shop for cake and drink afterwards. The paths are protected from being too muddy by matting and we enjoyed the day out! I ... read more »

Amazing keyboard instrument collection, fine house and very walkable parkland. House is only open four days a week (Sun, Tue-Thu); the gardens and parkland every day from 10:30. Winter hours may differ. Good food in the cafe; shop has wide range of the usual NT items. They did a deal (10%) on bulk purchase of this summer's NT curd jars.
The gardens are very nice and you can walk your dog there. The café always has a massive queue so bring your own provisions and as far as I could tell there were only two bins in the whole place.
Q lovely place to take the family for a walk. There is a nice café too. House is also pleasant but the opening times are quite restricted so check before you visit. Garden and café tends to be open far more.
The house is occupied so only open a few afternoons a week, but the grounds and shop are open much more and its great for a walk and a picnic. As with most National Trust places it's very expensive for non members.
Great place for pleasant walks.
