#1 of 14 in Museums in Great Yarmouth
Time and Tide Museum is centered around Great Yarmouth's rich maritime and fishing heritage, mainly focusing on the history of Yarmouth and the herring curing works. As Norfolk's third largest museum, there is something for everyone here. The museum offers various exhibitions, including a typical row, a type of narrow street from 1913. There is also a Yarmouth fishing wharf from the 1950s as well as hands-on displays, films, audio guides, and children's activities. You can even take the wheel of a steam drifter. When you need rest, relax in the spacious courtyard beneath a canopy of sails, surrounded by historic fishing boats. • Visited last Sunday and enjoyed it so much - very informative and interesting. Well laid out and provides such a brilliant picture of the history of Gt Yarmouth through the ages - fascinating. Also very much enjoyed the exhibits relating to the Titanic, particularly including the archive film footage. Oh, and the cafe was excellent too!
  • Amazing place showing lots of interesting things. Something suitable for all ages in there. Definitely worth a visit!
  • Titanic exhibit was very good. Sitting in front of that big display of lost people was thought provoking. And about that poor baby that was lost. The whole museum was very good. The cat looking through the curtains was lifelike I expected it to meow. The entry fee was the cheapest I have found. Spent 3 hours there
  • Fantastic museum. The smell of the old herring smoking house is wonderful and the whole site was one of the highlights of our visit to the area. Well done !
  • Fantastic. So interesting didn't want to leave. Had to go back after lunch. Titanic exhibition was wonderful. Love museums
