Time and Tide Museum, Great Yarmouth
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Time and Tide Museum is centered around Great Yarmouth's rich maritime and fishing heritage, mainly focusing on the history of Yarmouth and the herring curing works. As Norfolk's third largest museum, there is something for everyone here. The museum offers various exhibitions, including a typical row, a type of narrow street from 1913. There is also a Yarmouth fishing wharf from the 1950s as well as hands-on displays, films, audio guides, and children's activities. You can even take the wheel of a steam drifter. When you need rest, relax in the spacious courtyard beneath a canopy of sails, surrounded by historic fishing boats. Went on a rainy day to kill some time whilst on holiday.. But ended up spending a few hours there. Both my boys 8 and 6, enjoyed it too!
We went there with a few of friends and children for a bit of education, and one of the staff i believe they were called Sam Jinx and he shouted abuse at our friends kids, in front of a large crowd. We reported it to at the time manager of the time and tide museum but they didn't do anything about it. It completely ruined our day out, apart from one idiot the museum is great and hopefully will be a good day at for you, unless Sam Jinx is there, then you might as well just leave unless he attacks one of you, or your children. The management if they have any sense would of fired him by now
A great place to visit with lots of local history and well planted out. Looking forward u go going again. Great for kids too as has plenty of hands on exhibits. Would not go to the silver darling cafe tho as extremely slow and discourteous.
