The Pleasure Beach, Great Yarmouth

3.5
#2 of 7 in Theme Parks in Norfolk
Theme Park Water / Amusement Park
First opened in 1909, The Pleasure Beach is a beachside amusement park with over 30 rides. New rides are added every other year, while some historic rides that have been around since the park's opening are still in operation. Take a ride on a roller coaster built in 1932, or enjoy some of the more leisurely heritage attractions, such as the carousel and the scenic railway. Visit the Pleasure Beach Gardens to relax at Sara's Tearooms, a mini-golf course, and the Segway race track. Refresh yourself at the ice cream parlor or on-site cafe. Admission to the park is always free, but you pay for the rides individually. If you plan to spend the entire day, save money by purchasing a wristband. Make The Pleasure Beach a part of your Great Yarmouth vacation plans using our Great Yarmouth vacation route planner.

  • I cannot actually review the Pleasure Beach because it was never open! I went on the Friday at 10.30 in the morning, only to find it opened at 11. So on the Saturday we went down at 11, to find that o...  more »

  • Visited whilst on holiday in the area. Bought wristbands on the day for my 2 children, aged 9 and 14. On the expensive side at £21 each, but a decent selection of rides and both of the kids enjoyed th...  more »

  • Enough rides to keep you occupied for a while.. a little extensive, with cost hidden by using tokens. Too many gambling machines and not enough arcade games.. The wooden roller coaster was great.
  • Burns the kids energy. Buy the wrist bands for best vaule. A couple of revamped rides this year.
  • The Ghost Train was great! The rollercoaster is one of the oldest built in the uk. Still very fast for that sort of age! The sky drop is a ride that makes you very sick!! The pirate ship goes very high and i really enjoyed my day at the pleasure beach. Just one thing its still to expensive for wristbands £18 for kids each £31 for adults
  • Highly recommend the wrist band. £21 for unlimited rides all day. Each ride is about £2-3 each. Loads of rides for all ages. My kids love it there.
  • Dated.. but fun. Bit pricey for what you get. You need to buy tokens to go on the rides. The indoor rides like the snails and the ghost train are so out of date that you can't even see what's going on.

Where to stay in Great Yarmouth

Stay along the city's main pedestrian promenadeto be near the main attractions. A B&B near the central beach, close to the mouth of the promenade, is an ideal spot for views and access to attractions. For a quiet stay, consider lodging farther inland in one of the renovated Victorian buildings.
