Initially when we arrived for May bank holiday weekend we were unimpressed. Having never visited the park before we received sketchy directions to our pitch from the gate man who did his best to explain where to go but after driving around for nearly 20 minutes or so with a very big caravan we were non the wiser. When we finally realised where we were supposed to go we found the hard standing pitches were all mostly boggy and chewed up from previous visitors and were in a terrible state. They were not what we paid extra for ! We ended up on a grass area where we werent even supposed to be because that was the only decent place we could find with electric hook up. We spent all weekend wondering if we were going to be told to move. The swimming pool is great but god help you if its busy, when we got out we had to wait nearly 15 minutes for a place to get changed, there's only 6 cubicles and a poxy little bench and it wasnt even that busy. There's also no family changing rooms. The restaurant and bar looks good but we all got food poisening from the dodgy cooking and spent the whole Saturday night and Sunday throwing up and sitting on the toilet. The kids entertainment in the Venue looks great but thought it strange there were doorman on.... which must speak volumes about the clientelle. We've never seen that before at a camp site. Apart from the poor hardstanding pitches the site setting looked very idealic. However I think the place is that big they struggle to keep up with maintaining it. It was also very clear there were people living there who had a terrible attitude and their caravan/pitches were badly kept. I've never been to a camp site before where the people we met were so unfriendly and didnt even give you a passing greeting. I must say though the fair and arcades were brilliant, so were the go karts, crazy golf, train, boats and all the other entertainment. We normally like the kids to play freely but so many cars were whizzing right past our caravan far too fast and no one seemed to care. More should be done to slow them down. Over all we thought Billing Aquadrome is an ok place but could be amazing. Sadly we had a bad experience and wont be returning.
Worked at Willow Festival 2016 and stayed in a static caravan. I've stayed in a tent, trailer tent, caravan over the years with the folks and this is a lot more spacious and a bit more luxurious! The beds were not super comfortable but it's nice being outdoors with all the home comforts. The statics come with gas oven / hob, fridge, microwave as well as toilet and hot shower.
Well what a dismal excuse of a campsite hardly anywhere for water toilets disgusting hard standing is a joke and hate guard as isefull as a chocolate fire guard when I said we had paid for hard standing he said they get full up so we might not get one, scruffy and expensive and to be honest I think I have been prety generous with one star
Wasn't impressed, this was the first full family holiday in years and what a let down arrived and reported to reception as you do after waiting for somewhere to park only to be told "Oh just drive up to the gate they'll have your details" nice one 15 minutes wasted drove up to the gate and a further 10 minutes wasted finding my details in a box followed by some very vague indication of where I should pitch and a unclear map you couldn't read (pretty colours though) after 20 minutes driving around in circles we found our pitch in in the entire meadow there was me and my caravan and a bloke with a tent, so quite happy. Unfortunately then everything then went down hill, shower/toilet blocks where filthy with no water pressure and little lighting to the point where two drunk men staggered into the ladies scaring my missus! On the gents side the family cubical had not only no toilet roll but no holder. Everybody was sinking in the mud we were fortunate but other areas looked like liquid mud. The venue looks nice and is nice but not big enough really off peak dread to think what its like at peak season and everything just cost so much two kids and two adults swimming nearly £20 3 soft drinks and a bottle of cider nearly £10 the fair ground is hard to explain because its tokens but i think three rides worked out about £20 the miniature steam train which was in fact a lawn mower engined look alike but was made out to be steam that was £10 to go round the lake. This is only the second holiday I've had in 7 years and the first with both my kids and I felt I'd let them down the pictures on the web site gave a very optimistic view of the site certainly looked better on the net than in reality. I'm not recommending this site although the conditions might get better in the summer the prices and facilities no doubt will be the same. On a plus note though after I pitched I went to reception for some help and the young lady in there was very helpful.
It's Easter weekend, its off peak and the weather is awful. However this camp site is open, knowing all of this. It is an awful site, nowhere for pedestrians to walk safely, the safest place was on the train tracks (for the miniature train). We saw that there were leisure passes, fab we thought, meant there was a lot to do. Sadly no, everything you paid for separately for, EVERYTHING anyway, which was cheaper. The changing rooms for the swimming pool were horrendous, there was just no room for anyone to move about. There were about 8 cubicles, no benches or anything to put your bags or clothes on. Some of us have children we need to dry and dress aswell as ourselves. It asks that you remove footwear prior to entering, so we did, our socks were soaking, we had no idea what it was like inside. The floor was very wet and slippery and extremely muddy as the fields were all wet some flooded so a huge amount of mud. The venue was one building not overly big but it had everything in one place, bingo, children's games, arcade bit, pool tables and the air hockey games. It was so loud and unbearable at times. There were some pubs on site, but those with young children had to use the venue. The drinks were so overpriced and flat that was once you were served as there was either only 1 person working the bar or groups of people just standing around the bar drinking so you couldn't get to it. It was a real let down, on the web it looks amazing and offers everything, but in reality it's a place that tries to extract as much money as it can from you. There is hardly any lighting around the site and with it being just on badly kept fields, its uneven and very muddy. The toilets are disgusting, loads of them were blocked, there is no water pressure so lack of water coming from the taps. The showers were awful just a wet room with poorly maintained showers no room, lighting that hardly worked. I didn't use them it was the kind of place you that you needed to wipe your feet on the way out. We were glad we only spent 2 nights there, so glad it wasn't a week, we just wouldn't have stayed. We are never going back there very bad experience.
