  • Fantastic national and local history of weaponry and ammunition production over the last 300 years. Good cafĂ©.
  • A fantastic museum. Give yourself a few hours for the museum but there is also plenty to look at outside. Excellent views of Portsmouth Harbour.
  • I paid my fee and walked on through with my two children (6&8) I wouldn't expect them to be interested as this was a "for me" thing. I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning about the weapons of the navy, how they work and how old some of them were. My children on the other hand surprised me, they too had a great time, they can dress up, touch a lot of the displays and sit on old weapons as well as load the shells as quickly as they could. (you'll see!) They even managed to find each and every mouse that was hidden around the place for them to spot. That in itself was worth the not too expensive fee, you can update your ticket and come in free for a year if you choose. They even move the mice so the children have to search all over again. Cafe food was delicious with great views. Great place to visit.
  • Time this museum with the tearoom! Not enough here to justify the wait for the boat but timed with a tea and cake and it's about right. You can walk to the submarine museum but it's a good distance.
