  • Excellent history of the Gloucestershire soilders, could do with a bit more interaction.
  • Tucked away in the corner of the docks, on the opposite side from the Quays shopping centre, is this hidden gem of a museum. Beautifully presented and stuffed with information and memorabilia, it's easy to lose hours in here. Apart from specific facts about the Gloucestershire Regiment, there's plenty of general explanatory information about the various conflicts. I was particularly moved by the WW1 section that brought home to me the appalling conditions endured by the troops in the trenches. With a sprinkling of 'hands on' exhibits, notably the Gatling gun diorama, a small but well stocked play area and interactive screens, there's lots to interest older kids. Then there's the dress up section: try on adult sized tunics and hats from regimental uniforms going back a couple of centuries. Great fun and educational. The shop has a small but relevant range of products with a nice selection at 'pocket money' prices. The staff are friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable with a genuine passion for the subject. Thoroughly recommended.
  • Very good museum to visit. Well recommended
  • Amazing, even tho it show how brutal we as humans can be to each other which is shocking.
