  • Glasgow is lucky to have so many parks and this one has the added advantage of having a grove of fossil trees, many millions of years old and accessible to anyone who wants to see them.  more »

  • Great history in the city centre! Rather than move the trunks to a museum they made a building around them - where they fell millions of years ago. Come and learn what Glasgow looked like when dinosaurs roamed the earth....
  • Very intersting history and hidden Glasgow treasure. No facilities,
  • Unique and beautiful place to visit!
  • A visit here won't last more than 20-30 mins but it's well worth it if you're interested in Earth's ancient geological and biological history. Note that the visitor's centre providing access to the fossils is only open during the summer months (Approx May - Sep) although the surrounding park and gardens are open all year. Check the website for exact opening times before making a dedicated trip.
  • Sparingly open (11-4ish weekends) but a quirky and interesting look at a part of natural history not readily available elsewhere in the city. Worth a quiet meander during a run through the park, especially given the surreal atmosphere of the slot canyon-like quarry.
