St Andrew's Cathedral Glasgow, Glasgow
(4.7/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Admire the understated beauty of St Andrew's Cathedral Glasgow, dedicated to Scotland's patron saint and the city's most prominent Roman Catholic church. Completed in 1816, it was built during a time of restrictions on Catholic places of worship and is therefore fairly modest in its scale and design. Although it lacks a steeple and bell tower, the neo-Gothic building is renowned for its simple beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The gleaming white and gold interior features an impressive organ, vibrant stained-glass windows, and notable modern religious artwork. Complete your visit with some relaxation and contemplation in the small garden. Put St Andrew's Cathedral Glasgow on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Glasgow tourist route planner.
