Pollok Country Park, Glasgow
(4.7/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Escape from the city at Pollok Country Park, a 146-hectare (360-acre) expanse of well-manicured green space, previously named the Best Park in Europe. Stretch your legs on miles of trails, and choose a quiet picnic spot to forget about urban life. Before the building of a highway in 1994, the park was the largest urban green space in Europe. Visit shaggy Scottish Highland cattle, and view the eclectic antique and art collection of shipping magnate William Burrell. If you want to go faster than your own two feet can carry you, the park has also opened three mountain-biking routes. Take a look at our Glasgow trip generator to schedule your visit to Pollok Country Park and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Lovely park, great for walking the dog. It can get a bit busy just after work and at the weekend though. Great for families, dog walkers or pretty much anyone
  • Excellent cycling area. Pleasant and tidy, well maintained area. One point off for no benches to be found on cycle route paths.
  • Very lucky to have a mountain bike loop like this in the middle of the city. Needs some maintenance though. Love this place though
  • Wonderful park. Long or short walks , Highlands cows, clydesdale horses, pollok house. Everything you could wish for in a country park
  • My 2nd favourite park in Glasgow and home to the Burrell Collection. You can easily spend a while day here between the kids park, walks through the woods, visiting the Burrell Collection and Pollock House, walk along the river see the Highland cows and Clydesde horses.
