Glasgow Tigers Speedway, Glasgow

4.4
#16 of 53 in Sightseeing in Glasgow
Tourist Spot Auto Race Track
Feel the thrills and spills of live motorsports at Glasgow Tigers Speedway, where the local speedway motorcycle team competes. Watch the racers power-sliding and broad-sliding their machines into the bends, creating a roar and a rain of particles. Formed in 1928, this dirt and loosely packed shale oval track has long provided entertainment for Glaswegians, who previously held greyhound racing here. Roary the Tiger works the crowd during intermissions, and an onsite cafe and take-out vendor handle race-day hunger. Bring a cushion for seating in the stands. By using our Glasgow vacation trip planner, you can arrange your visit to Glasgow Tigers Speedway and other attractions in Glasgow.

  • Reasonably priced, decent grub & friendly staff. Can recommend.
  • Needs work. Great potential but hearing changes in the pipeline. Not a good venue yet however it's all about the racing, not just the place! Eyes on this one though folks.
  • Have previously rated this 5 stars for exciting racing but having been here since the start of the season and have concluded that although the new owners have put together a good team and have really improved the stadium they have put in so many rules and regulations to have taken the fun out of it.
  • Facilities are great......good day out for the kids
  • Great day for the family kids loved it an great atmosphere

Where to stay in Glasgow

Glasgow's revitalized city center offers outstanding accommodations--along with some of the finest shopping outside London. Considered one of the finest Victorian cities in Britain, Glasgow is renowned for its centrally located hotels. Spacious rooms overlook the historical city center, and award-winning restaurants and trendy cafes occupy the lower levels. Farther away from the central areas, which are often noisy and crowded with tourists, is a world of small B&Bs and guesthouses. These considerably cheaper options offer quality lodging in quiet neighborhoods less frequented by weekend revelers and rowdy nightlife lovers.
