#5 of 15 in Parks in Glasgow
Ideal for relaxation, play, or delving into the region's storied past, Glasgow Green serves as an oasis in the center of Scotland's largest city. A stroll through the six-centuries-old park reveals a host of impressive points of interest, including the first civic monument in Britain to commemorate Admiral Nelson's victories and the 19th-century Doulton Fountain built to celebrate Queen Victoria's reign. Large park that houses People's Palace. Very green and space to practice physical activities and sunbathing.

Great day. Park was in great condition despite the weather. Rubbish constantly picked up by stewards.  more »

  • Lovely well kept park nice to cycle through during the day. Venture in at night of your looking for a slate off the roof or a gas cooker. Bring your own lube.
  • Well maintained park. Nice and clean. Good to have a stroll or play some games with friends
  • So many things to do and all in one park. Huge green area and walking area for picnics, cycling, walking, resting or studying. 3 playgrounds with different themes. 2 of them with sand! Indoor gardens when the weather is not that great and a cafe. Plus there is a museum and a beautiful fountain!
  • Dazzling, unlikely , sunshine for my recent visit! But if it's not there it's still lovely to stroll by the river, or duck in to the People's Palace for a warm up in the historic glass house amongst the tropical plants.
  • Lovely place to go a walk/jog or run if you must 😂. Park is decent too and the scenery is beautiful.

Where to stay in Glasgow

Glasgow's revitalized city center offers outstanding accommodations--along with some of the finest shopping outside London. Considered one of the finest Victorian cities in Britain, Glasgow is renowned for its centrally located hotels. Spacious rooms overlook the historical city center, and award-winning restaurants and trendy cafes occupy the lower levels. Farther away from the central areas, which are often noisy and crowded with tourists, is a world of small B&Bs and guesthouses. These considerably cheaper options offer quality lodging in quiet neighborhoods less frequented by weekend revelers and rowdy nightlife lovers.
