A superb stadium in the east. Legacy from Commonwealth games and still in use. I love the architecture of this very modern stadium  more »

Not the best venue for basketball, only seating on court sides. And lighting not as good as it could be  more »

  • Great place for sport. Good experience for basketball finals.
  • I race here often and have to say it is an amazing track (although the air seems to have an effect of you breathing). This review is only 3 stars however as a direct result of the security staff. They are stationed at every set of stairs, even ones that you can go down and ones that you should be able to get down. They are rude and treat you as if you are disrupting the peace.
  • Fantastic facility. No swimming pool though. Has good number of badminton courts
  • World class sporting arena with great facilities. The Emirates Arena is one of Scotland's finest sporting arenas. Originally built for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, this modern, impressive venue plays host to a variety of events throughout the year such as the Glasgow Athletics Indoor Grand Prix. The arena has fantastic parking, outdoor five-a-side football pitches and a gym. The sports halls are very well lit and laid out, with plenty of (immaculately clean) toilets available. Wheelchair friendly access is available (with wheelchair accessible seating frequently in use at the basketball games). Staff here are OK though not always the most helpful at the refreshment stands (rude, in fact, on our most recent visit). And the refreshment stands don't accept cards for purchases under £5, despite accepting contactless payments (aimed squarely at low value purchases) and there being no ATMs nearby. The stewards and security staff are generally quite friendly and helpful. While the car park can get a little crowded, there's a much quieter pick up and drop off point at the London Road exit. Unfortunately the doors at this side are usually closed (except when leaving after an event) so if you're being dropped off here you'll have to walk round the perimeter of the building. This does, however, avoid the stairs at the main entrance - useful for those with mobility issues. It also takes you past the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome - worth a peak in at another impressive facility here. It's a great boost for sports in Glasgow and a fantastic, beautifully designed venue.
  • I am here a lot for events I love the venue

Where to stay in Glasgow

Glasgow's revitalized city center offers outstanding accommodations--along with some of the finest shopping outside London. Considered one of the finest Victorian cities in Britain, Glasgow is renowned for its centrally located hotels. Spacious rooms overlook the historical city center, and award-winning restaurants and trendy cafes occupy the lower levels. Farther away from the central areas, which are often noisy and crowded with tourists, is a world of small B&Bs and guesthouses. These considerably cheaper options offer quality lodging in quiet neighborhoods less frequented by weekend revelers and rowdy nightlife lovers.
