F1K Indoor Karting Reviews
We had an awesome time karting for my mates stag do up here in Newcastle, despite the horrendous customer service! They seemed genuinely annoyed that we were here! We were short a number and instead o... more »
Just expensive for 30 mins wearing tatty old overalls. Essential to buy one of their balaclava's if you don't happen to have your own!! adds extra costs. The guy on reception tried to explain/justify ... more »
I bought 6 Groupons advertised as half price deals, it turns out they were only £2 off each person from the over the phone price when I called, but we were happy enough with 50 laps with friendly staf... more »
The staff were incredibly rude. Receptionist told me that I was 'beginning to annoy' him because people wanted to pay on their debit cards. The track is exceptionally small and the surface is awful. The karts handle as if they've got 4 flat tyres and mechanically don't appear safe. There isn't anything positive to say about the experience and for £39 each, you're better off taking your business to the outdoor track in Durham. The whole day felt rushed and like we were merely a number. I certainly would not recommend this venue for any stag, hen or social event. Certainly do not take your children here due to safety concerns with the karts and the track.
Had some good visits over the years, shame it is closing, good quick indoor track!
Actual karting was fun horrible telephone service daylight robbery. They charge double the price on the Internet unless u call them and say u have seen there price on Internet. Was told to arrive and then was told there we no space till later. Three phone calls to make one booking and to save my self from paying double and an extra two pounds just to use a card what robbery
The karting itself was good however, the booking process and the experience before karting could only be described as a ridiculous pantomime. Before leaving we phoned to make sure there would be space for us. The lady on the phone told us there was availability and to just turn up. So we drive half an hour to be told there was no availability untill 2 hours later. This was disappointing in itself, but we agreed that we would wait, so asked if we could book. We were told that we could not book at the office, but would have to phone. No apology for the flaw in their system. So we phoned for the second time to book. When we returned they tried to charge us £33pp as opposed to the £19.50pp stated on the website - every day in September, and still being in September we expected this price. When we queried this, the answer was "oh you have to tell them you want that price on the phone when you book" . This ofcourse couldn't be changed at the office either. So we had to phone, for the third time, to tell them we wanted to pay the price we saw online. Then they charge you to use card. The current system is illogical and designed to make it as difficult as possible. Would only consider returning if the booking system is amended.
Great track. 2 or 3 genuine overtaking places which was a bonus- many tracks have a layout which makes overtaking nigh impossible. My son's kart stalled about 6 times in 30 minutes, but apart from that we had a very enjoyable experience.
