  • I was staying near Largs so for me it was over 1 1/2 hours drive but I'm very glad I did. We came here especially to see the stars. Arrived to the most amazing sunset and stayed long enough to see the...  more »
  • The Galloway Park is a beautiful park and offers many different walks. The area around the hole Toon liked us very well. There's some very nice short walks. It is worth also at the Café at the hole Toon a ticket to the use of Forrest road for £2 to buy. The road leads through the forest and passes some beautiful sights on the way to Newton Stewart and the lower part of the Park. There it is worth even the scenic tourist to take Queens Road through the Park. Along this road gat you the option either mountain goats or to go watch red deer (is marked with signs on the side of the road).

  • The forest drive is amazing. The £2 donation is worth it several times over. The best way would be to start at Clatheringshaw Visitors Centre and drive to the other end. Don't forget to stop off at the otter's pool carpark which is kind of halfway there. It has a nice picnic area by the waterside which is amazing.
  • Fantastic dark sky Park, and great views of 'earthly' landscape too. Would recommend checking if it's going to be cloudy to avoid any potential disappointment. Also the observatory is in an odd location, and roads are not fantastic. But hey, great location for what it's meant for
  • A beautiful place. We could have spent hours there. Amazing scenery too.
  • I would actually live here if I could. Amazing place, amazing wildlife, amazing night skies
  • Fantastic place - take the time to do both Forest Drives and really get to see the best of the park.
