  • One of the best castles that I happened to visit. From the outside it looks like many others that were rebuilt in the same period for reasons of "fashion", but once inside you will come to another world. Extremely large spaces, wonderful huge staircase that for once it differs vastly from the usual steep spiral stairs and narrow turret housing. The rooms are rich and well appointed, you can visit much of the building, and here and there are scattered staff ready to answer questions or ... tell ghost stories. Depending on whether you believe it or not. Don't miss the wonderful library tower and Chapel-reception-room, takes your breath away. Unfortunately this kind of places tend to tell more "recent" history (200-250 years old) and to forget the previous one, because it is obvious what is left is the result of modernisation, remodelling and adjustments to the fashions of one or two centuries ago, but if you love fill the eyes of luxury, pomp and try to put yourselves in the aristocratic atmosphere of past times, Fyvie is a great place to do it.

  • We never had a chance to go inside the castle but grounds were kept well so we enjoyed the walk in the sunny autumn morning.
  • I've been there with my husband for a great day out. Even if was during the winter, we took a great walk around the little lake and enjoyed the time aound the castle and in the estate. It's marvelous ...  more »

  • Stunning casyle and beautiful grounds. Cafe tiny and busy but fine otherwise. Castle full of interesting items.
  • Great for a walk around the gardens. We were not in the castle, but had time to try the very nice café. £2 for all day parking.
  • One of my favorite castles with lovely grounds to wander in and fantastic history all around. This is all finished off with a visit to the Fyvie Castle tearoom where we were treated to home bakes and fresh coffee (tea if you prefer)...
  • Expensive but well worth going. If you are visiting a few castles in the area you can get a week pass to them all.
  • Fantastic, it was My first visit and I know. More Will come!!!!!
